The food was absolutely top-notch, especially the South African dishes that are unique and tasty! The steak night was a highlight, and I couldn't get enough of the cozy vibes in the pub area. Lastly, a massive shoutout to the freestanding bath in my room! Pure bliss after a day out.
Unfortunately, we had a noisy neighbor who was quite the door slammer. It took away from the peaceful pub atmosphere. Staff seemed aware but didn’t tackle the issue directly, which left us a bit bummed.

The large walk-in shower feels luxurious, perfect for unwinding after a long day. Breakfast choices are extensive, featuring a delicious granola and a hearty full-English that really hits the spot.
The room lacked a wardrobe, making it a hassle to hang up clothes properly, with a cramped hanging 'tree' shoved into a corner. Noise levels are a real issue. busy road traffic and a railway line nearby disrupt any chance of a peaceful night’s sleep, even with the double-glazing. Finding the extractor fan switch was a challenge since it wasn’t labeled and required standing on a chair to access. Lighting in both the room and bathroom was inadequate, making it tough to read or get ready in the morning. The access to the room through fire escape stairs from the car park felt unnecessarily convoluted, especially during late hours.

Room lovely and spacious, with thoughtful touches like cotton wool and folded bath mat. Bathtub was a treat, making for a relaxing stay. Parking was easy, and the location is convenient, close to the village and train station. Staff were friendly, especially at breakfast, making my mornings pleasant. I enjoyed the breakfast options, particularly the eggs Benedict and cappuccino. the shower had issues. turning it on and off was tricky, and I couldn't get it hot enough. The noise from the kitchen extraction was quite loud, slightly disturbing my peace during the night.
